Premier League Champions!!

We would like to welcome our new Coach David Durrant.

David Durrant was born in North London, England and lifelong Arsenal fan. At age 16 David was accepted into Southgate College Football Academy, and then went on to play professionally for Barnet football club in League 2. Age 20 David relocated to Nottingham and began a career as semi-professional soccer player.

In 2011 David received a soccer scholarship in America at Trinity Lutheran University in Washington State. After spending 1 year in America Playing university soccer, David transferred to Vancouver Island University in Canada as a player and assistant Coach for the university team. As well as being a full time student David also worked 16 hours a week at the Highlanders Soccer academy coaching and developing over 300 players working with all ages from U10 – U18 boys and girls.

David Returned to the states and was lucky enough to meet a Brazilian world cup winner. He employed David at his soccer club in the US and mentored David in Brazilian style soccer coaching and developing players using Brazilian methodology. David has been working as a full time soccer in North Carolina, USA for the last 2 years and has been working with all age groups from U10 - U18. David is a very passionate coach and has had a lot of success so far with teams he has worked with. 
David has coaching badges such as, English FA level 1-2, Professional Brazilian soccer license Level 3(B-Fut), Brazilian Futsal level 3 and US National D license

Storm would like to welcome coach James Barnes to the board as Director of Coaches

Coach James Barnes has been involved in High Desert Soccer as a player and coach for over 20 years.  As a youth player he trained at the renowned Santa Barbara Soccer Academy and the Manchester United Football School in Manchester, England.  Starting a game at CM against the Manchester City FC U17 team.   After graduating from Silverado High School he was one of the first High Desert soccer players to receive a soccer scholarship.  His Freshman and Sophomore seasons were spent at California Baptist University and transferred as a Junior to Hope International University in Fullerton.  With his playing career over and his attention turned to coaching he moved back to the High Desert and took a Job as VVCs Mens Soccer Asst Coach and Head Coach of Apple Valley High School.  At AVHS Coach James led the Sundevils to a MRL Championship and had many of his players move on to play in college.  After AVHS Coach James moved back to Silverado High School to take charge of the Girls Varsity Soccer team.  After a playoff appearance at Silverado he moved to rival and Southern California power Granite Hills High School to work under Coach Mike Bradbury.  After Bradburys retirement coach James was selected as the 2nd ever Girls Soccer coach at Granite Hills High School leading them to an undefeated DSL Season and moving the team into 4th place all-time for the longest undefeated run in CIF SS History.  During this time Coach James has been a head coach and trainer at Apple Valley Storm since 2013.  Coach James has coached teams from Bronze to the Gold Level and has won multiple Regional titles as well as success in CA State Cup.  He was the trainer on Apple Valley Storms first boys team to represent the club at US Club Soccers National Cup in North Carolina.  Coach James looks to help AVSC Storm continue to grow as a local and regional power.  Players that have played for Coach James have gone on to play at schools such as Cal State Fullerton, UCI, CBU, HIU, Kansas Wesleyan, Yale, Yavapai College, Cal Poly Pomona, Cal State San Bernardino among many others.

Storm BU17 Wins West National Regionals!!

For the first time, A Storm team will be playing for a National Title in North Carolina in July!! They won West Regional in Davis, California. More impressive that they didn't Allow a Goal in the Tournament!! Scoring 8 goals they see themselve to North Carloina for a National Title!! Go Storm!!
